I'm Bushed
1 hour spin class with Andrew at the J
Today was the third straight day of getting up at 5 a.m. to work out. At this point, it's not working out. I'm bushed. You're bushed. We're all Presidents 41 and 43. (Doesn't that picture make you long for the good old days of 2004?) I spun, but I felt like mush. Andrew taught a good class, though. I'm looking forward to an off day tomorrow and an extra hour of sleep.
My fear is Lake Tahoe, MS GLOBAL 2012, and the rest of the biking season is right around the corner! I'm feeling like I'm losing the wheel during spin class in January. How can that be?
If anyone has any ideas about how to break out of a plateau, I'm all ears.

Stop spin class, build a strong foundation with distance at moderate, easy speeds.. Then do all out hill repeats by standing as you bike up the hill... Then push yourself on a 20 mile ride without letting up. It works for me, I never burn out and I am never over trained.
Interesting take on training. Unfortunately, the cold weather and my job make "distance" hard to come by this time of year. Spin class is a compact workout that I use to at least get some fitness in the winter. It's also better than a trainer. The Thursday spin instructor is a cyclist and we do very little jumping. I will start hill repeats when it gets a little warmer, and then do some interval work on a longer ride. Thanks.
